Ariel's Interior Design Portfolio
Hello, my name is Ariel, and I am currently an interior design major at Washington State University. Interior design is one of my biggest interests, and I plan on making a fun and exciting career out of it. The area that I am most interested in specializing in is ecological sustainability through interior design, while simultaneously maintaining functional and aesthetically pleasing designs. I plan on graduating WSU with a masters degree in interior design, then traveling over the world furthering my career and design experiences.
These are some projects and sketches I did while in summer school 2010. This was the first interior design class I have taken.

Elements and Principles Posters
This assignment was enjoyable, it involved taking our own pictures throughout the campus and applying them to an element or principle of design, and then explaining how each picture fit each description/definition. This was time consuming, but it was fun to take pictures and think about the definitions and try to find examples on campus. It turned out to be surprisingly easy to find objects that exuded some type of element or principle, because as it turns out- the elements and principles of design are in everything in one way or another! That was something I suppose I knew- but did not actually realize until I was looking for it- which has made me love design even more... Most of my pictures are of outdoor things-trees, bushes, and other outdoor structures, and I think I would have liked to take more indoor photos, but I think the ones I have explain each definition just fine. This was also my first time using the design software to create the poster, so next time I will add more detail and color to the background and the lettering to make it more appealing. As for the assignment as a whole, I feel I did pretty well.
